Updated COVID-19 Policies

Employee Health and Travel Guidelines-COVID-19

Your safety, well-being and peace of mind are important to our commitment to deliver Person Centered Care for you and for those we serve. Please see below for important updates and guidance on steps that we are taking to ensure our ability to protect our residents and employees. Rakhma’s policies and practices are aligned with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota and Wisconsin Departments of Health guidance and best practices from local and national employers. Rakhma’s policies and practices will be updated as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve.  We are committed to keeping you informed of any changes.

Meeting Policy

In effort to decrease the risk of spreading COVID-19, and in consideration of the health and safety of our employees, all huddles, meetings or gatherings of more than 6 people should be converted to Zoom meetings, conference calls, or other virtual means.

Personal Travel

The CDC recently updated its travel guidance and risk levels for certain countries and types of travel. For the safety of employees and patients, Rakhma is strongly discouraging travel to countries with a Level 2 or 3 Travel Health Notice and Cruise Travel.  Knowing what to expect when you return to work at Rakhma will help you decide what the right travel plans may be for you and your family.

Effective Wednesday, March 11, 2020, if you are planning to travel on a cruise or to a country with a Level 2 or 3 Travel Health Notice as designated by the CDC, you will be asked to disclose your travel PRIOR TO TRAVEL to Executive Director, Brandon Spears for approval 612-351-8061 or bspears@rakhma.org. ALL personal travel outside of the State will be reviewed using CDC guidelines and approved by the Executive Director.

  • When you've returned from a country with a Level 3 Travel Health Notice you must contact the Executive Director and you must stay home and monitor your health for 14 days.

  • When you’ve returned from a country with a Level 2 Travel Health Notice and/or a cruise, prior to returning to work, you must contact the Executive Director. You may be asked upon return to self-quarantine for 14 days, based on your exposure and current CDC guidance.

  • Discuss with your manager if you have the ability to work from home and discuss the monitoring and return to work process.

  • The CDC updates its guidance frequently and Rakhma will align its practices regarding self-quarantines with the most current guidance.

All staff members have the authority to ask visitors who appear ill to leave our facility.  We know these restrictions will be difficult for residents and their loved ones. We are taking these necessary steps to protect our staff and patients. Leaders will make compassionate exceptions on a case-by-case basis. This is a time for us to have empathetic interactions and demonstrate Our Commitment to our Core Values.

Volunteers/Community Outings

  • All Volunteers have been asked to refrain from visits until further notice

  • Community outings have been cancelled until further notice and activities within each home will be provided.

Sick Employees

  • All employees who are exhibiting signs and symptoms of the flu or other illness must disclose their health status to their direct supervisor.

  • Rakhma’s RN will advise whether it is safe for an employee to come to work after evaluating the employee’s symptoms.

  • Employees who are exhibiting symptoms of the flu or other illness will be advised to work from home as applicable.

We are actively working to get you the information you need to make informed choices for yourself and your family. We are committed to communicating with you regularly, as the situation changes.
