Come Home to Rakhma
Rakhma, Inc. has three homes, real homes,
in the community,
for older adults -- specializing
in dementia care since 1984. Each
house has
from 10-11 residents who take part in the daily
living
activities in the home. Rakhma is an
Aramaic word meaning "unconditional
love,"
and describes our philosophy of care.
The small
setting nurtures a sense of belonging
through parties, celebration of life
stories and
family potlucks. There is a natural comfort in
being at
home, where residents share a
newspaper, gather around the kitchen table
for a meal or participate in an activity. Friends
forgive repeated
stories and weekly outings
are anticipated by all.
